New EMPYRO newsletter
From 2014 and onwards,newsletters of the EU Empyro project are combined with BTG-BTL newsletters about the Empyro project and the construction of the plant. The frequency of the Empyro newsletters is also increased. The newsletters are available here. You can subscribe by filling in your email address at bottom of that page.

8 February 2014 - Construction of the first pyrolysis plant (biomass-to-liquid) has started
Empyro BV announces that the construction of its pyrolysis oil production plant has started at the AkzoNobel site in Hengelo (The Netherlands). The full press release is available here (English) or here (Dutch).

EMPYRO project on Dutch regional television and national radio
In February 2012, an item on the EMPYRO project was aired on the Dutch regional channel RTV Oost. In this news item the background of the project is explained and attention is paid to the finalisation of permits.

On the same day an interview was also broadcasted on Dutch national radio channel 1. The interview, in Dutch, can be accessed below. 

EMPYRO newsletter - Issue 2
In February 2012, the EMPYRO project released the second issue of its annual newsletter. This issue highlights the work that has been carried out in the second year and the forthcoming activities. The newsletter is available here.

EMPYRO information package
In november 2011 an information package was designed. This information package contains information, illustrations and publications concerning the Empyro project. The package is especially valuable for organisations interested in releasing a publication about the project. The information package can be downloaded here (filesize: over 8mb).

EMPYRO flyer
In November, the project consortium prepared a project flyer focusing on the pyrolysis plant and the oil applications. Click here to download the flyer (in Dutch and English).

Pyrolysis technology on Dutch national television
In November 2010, Dutch national TV paid attention to the developments of the pyrolysis technology. The main focus was on the upgrading of the pyrolysis oil and the biorefinery possibilities.

EMPYRO general presentation
In July 2010, the project consortium prepared a presentation of the EMPYRO project highlighting the project background, its objectives and the tasks to be carried out in the project. The presentation is available here.

In June 2010, the IEA Bioenergy Task 34 newsletter included an article summarizing the EMPYRO project context, activities and expected results. The article is available here.

In April 2010, the Biofuel international magazine published an article highlighting the potential of pyrolysis oil. The article is available here.
